The upcoming RSC Scottish Dalton/USIC Conference will be held at Heriot-Watt University on the 1st and 2nd of September 2026. The new combined format of these conferences was a great success last year, combining the regional RSC Scottish Dalton meeting and PhD student-led USIC conference. We have Prof. Andrew Weller (York), Dr Lucas Carreras (Johnson Matthey), and the 2026 RSC Harrison-Meldola Early Career Prize winner Dr Conrad Goodwin (Manchester) confirmed as a plenary speakers. We will also feature invited talks from each of the Scottish chemistry departments. As is tradition, USIC will focus on early career researchers and offer opportunities for oral and poster presentations, along with a conference dinner and a traditional Scottish ceilidh in the evening.

The event will be held in the Postgraduate Centre at Heriot-Watt University which has good bus links into Edinburgh. The dinner and ceilidh will be held at The Pavilion at Myreside. There is a wide variety of accomodation options in central Edinburgh. The Courtyard by Marriott, Edinburgh West located on campus is offering a 15% discount on room bookings. Please contact them at [email protected] or 0131 526 3210 and quote "USIC Conference" to book a discounted room.

All are welcome to attend and we encourage attendance from those outside of Scotland.
