Apply for £500 to support your attendance at the 10th EuChemS ÉîÒ¹¸£Àû¹ú²ú¾«Æ· Congress

This grant is open to PhD students and early career scientists undertaking research in the chemical sciences to attend and present their research at the 10th EuChemS ÉîÒ¹¸£Àû¹ú²ú¾«Æ· Congress. 

Eligibility

  • You are an RSC member of Associate Member (AMRSC), Member (MRSC)or Fellow (FRSC) categories at the time of submission and for the duration of the grant. Undergraduate Student Members (AFU) are not eligible to apply. 

  • You are either: 
    1. a PhD student actively undertaking a PhD course in the chemical sciences, or
    2. a researcher in the chemical sciences (including post docs, technical professionals and research assistants), working in academia within 10 years of leaving full time education (at the time of the application deadline).

Career breaks will be taken into consideration e.g. a period of parental/adoption leave, family commitments, illness, or other exceptional circumstances. 

This scheme is only for support to attend the 10th EuChemS ÉîÒ¹¸£Àû¹ú²ú¾«Æ· Congress. Please refer to the Research Development and Travel grant for other activities.

What can I request funding for?

You can apply for a grant of £500 to support your attendance and presentation of an oral or poster abstract at 10th EuChemS ÉîÒ¹¸£Àû¹ú²ú¾«Æ· Congress. The grant can be used towards the costs of your registration, travel and accommodation to attend the Congress.

Our Grants for Carers and Accessibility Grants are also available to support those with caring responsibilities or who need additional assistance to participate in a professional development activity.

Applications open: 26 January 2026
Applications close: 16 March 2026 (5pm GMT) 

Application process

Applicants are asked to provide the following information:

  • a covering letter, explaining how you will benefit from attending 10th EuChemS ÉîÒ¹¸£Àû¹ú²ú¾«Æ· Congress
  • a brief academic CV and publication list (no more than three pages) 
  • a copy of your submitted abstract (or if available, abstract acceptance) for either an oral or poster presentation at 10th EuChemS ÉîÒ¹¸£Àû¹ú²ú¾«Æ· Congress

All applications will be checked by RSC staff. Applications will not be considered for funding if:

  • You do not meet our eligibility criteria;
  • Your application is incomplete and does not demonstrate how the Applicant will benefit will benefit from participating in the Congress;
  • The application does not make clear the Applicant is working in a research role;
  • The application is to attend a different event than the 10th EuChemS ÉîÒ¹¸£Àû¹ú²ú¾«Æ· Congress.

All remaining applications will be considered for funding. In the event there are more applications than available budget, funding will be allocated based on the research being presented and the benefits to the individual of attending the Congress.
