Wellbeing Workshop for 深夜福利国产精品 Teachers
3 October 2018 17:30-21:00, Leicester, United Kingdom
Introduction
Improving Your Understanding of Wellbeing and Resilience
Overview:
Could you spot the early warning signs of distress, anxiety or depression in yourself or your colleagues?
Would you feel able to talk to, or listen to someone about these symptoms?
If not, then help is on the way with this course.
This workshop aims to help teachers better understand the signs and symptoms of mental ill-health both in themselves and those around them. It is not a counselling course, but provides basic information about how to manage important first conversations, provides some practical skills on how to communicate with colleagues or students they are concerned about and where to find relevant professional help. It also offers tips on personal stress management and staying well. We know that understanding more about our own mental health enables us to help and support others much easier.
97% of previous attendees would recommend this workshop to a friend or colleague and they have said:
鈥淚t was very useful to learn the correct approach to dealing with depression/ stress situations.鈥
鈥淚t was a highly informative and very interactive session. Trevor鈥檚 knowledge of the subject was beyond question but his way of getting over a particular point was sensitive. I would definitely recommend this to my colleagues.鈥
Programme:
What is mental health?
Stigma associated with this subject
Risk factors within society
Early signs of common mental health issues
Looking after your own mental health
Non-judgemental listening
The workshops will be run by Trevor Bell, who was awarded the Platinum Award from Mental Health First Aid England.
