How to be Engaging - Session 2

29 March 2022 12:00-13:00, United Kingdom

This event is for RSC Members only

Introduction

Overview

You've got a great topic, but how do you make people care? Join award winning science communicator Sam Langford for two 1-hour online workshops to explore storytelling and engagement techniques that hook your audience and make them want to learn more! Whether it's tips on how to use volunteers, figuring out your audience or discovering that you definitely are a funny presenter, these two sessions will be wide ranging and highly interactive (no death by PowerPoint here!). Throughout this workshop you will have the chance to participate in a number of activities that will help you build your engagement skills with a range of audience types.

Trainer

These sessions are to be delivered by Sam Langford (he/him), a science communicator, event producer and all-round performing science monkey. With almost 10 years’ experience in science communication, he has delivered science content in the rainforest, up mountains, at music festivals and even by sending objects to the edge of space.

Sessions

Please note that each of the two sessions in the seriers covers different content, and you will need to register for each session separately.

Session 1 Tuesday 22 March 2022 12:00 - 13:00
Session 2 Tuesday 29 March 2022 12:00 - 13:00
