Professor Buddhadeb Chattopadhyay, Associate Editor – OCF
IISER Pune, India

Buddhadeb was born and raised in Insura-Hooghly, West Bengal, India. He obtained his B.Sc. (2001) in chemistry from the Burdwan University and M.Sc. (2003) in chemistry from Visva-Bharati University. In 2003, he left Visva-Bharati and enrolled in Kalyani University for his Ph.D. in the laboratories of Professor K. C. Majumdar.
After postdoctoral research work around six years in the USA from 2009 to 2014 (University of Illinois at Chicago, USA and Michigan State University, East Lansing, USA), Buddhadeb started his independent research career at the Centre of Biomedical Research (CBMR), Lucknow, India, where he is currently holding the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Biological & Synthetic ÉîÒ¹¸£Àû¹ú²ú¾«Æ·.
Buddhadeb's research interest includes the catalyst/ligand engineering for the C–H bond activation/functionalization, especially C–H bond borylations of organic molecules and metal-nitrene/carbene chemistry via metalloradical catalysis.
He was the recipient of the Ramanujan Faculty award (2013), DST Young Scientist Award (2014), Thieme ÉîÒ¹¸£Àû¹ú²ú¾«Æ· Journal Award (2017), SERB-STAR AWARD–2019" (Science and Technology Award for Research), "SERB-TETRA AWARD–2022" (Technology Translation Award), Fellow, National Academy of Sciences, FNASc. (2023) and Fellow of the Royal Society of ÉîÒ¹¸£Àû¹ú²ú¾«Æ·, London, UK (FRSC) (2024).


Professor Vandana Bhalla, Associate Editor – RSC Advances
Guru Nanak Dev University, India

Professor Vandana Bhalla obtained her PhD from Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar in 1998. She is currently working as a Professor at the Department of ÉîÒ¹¸£Àû¹ú²ú¾«Æ·, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Her area of research includes the development of supramolecular functional materials, catalysis, and photocatalysis. She has published around 215 research papers in international journals and has received a number of prizes including the Thomson Reuters Research Excellence India Citation Award 2015, the Prof S. S. Sandhu Endowment Award 2017, and the AV Rama Rao prize for women in Chemical Sciences.


Professor Tharamani , IIT Ropar, India

Professor Tharamani is currently an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of ÉîÒ¹¸£Àû¹ú²ú¾«Æ· at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Ropar, India. Her research interests include the design and development of new materials with a focus on energy conversion/storage and biosensing applications, and in-depth fundamental analysis of the newly designed electrocatalysts by various electrochemical, spectroscopic, microscopic, and scanning probe techniques.
Thara is a recipient of several prestigious fellowships such as the Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellowship, Germany, and the Ramanujan Fellowship by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of ÉîÒ¹¸£Àû¹ú²ú¾«Æ· admitted through the “Leaders in the field” scheme and an elected Fellow of the Indian Chemical Society.
She is a recipient of the CRSI-Bronze Medal 2023 from the Chemical Research Society of India and the Silver Medal of CRS 2023 from the Society Chirantan Rasayan Sanstha, as well as the ECSI National Metrohm Award 2023 from the Electrochemical Society of India and the A.V. Rama Rao prize for Women 2024 from the Chemical Research Society of India. She is an Editor of ZAAC (Wiley), and an Editorial Board Member of Electrocatalysis (Springer Nature) and Sustainable Energy and Fuels (Royal Society of ÉîÒ¹¸£Àû¹ú²ú¾«Æ·).


Dr. Richard Kelly, ChemComm
Royal Society of ÉîÒ¹¸£Àû¹ú²ú¾«Æ·, United Kingdom

Dr Kelly carried out his undergraduate and post graduate education at University of Liverpool, UK, obtaining his PhD studying lanthanide catalysis under Professor Helen Aspinall. He joined the Royal Society of ÉîÒ¹¸£Àû¹ú²ú¾«Æ·’s editorial staff in 2004 and became Executive Editor of the RSC’s organic chemistry journals – including Organic & Biomolecular ÉîÒ¹¸£Àû¹ú²ú¾«Æ· and Natural Product Reports – in 2010. He is currently leading the general chemistry portfolio and is the Executive Editor of ChemComm and Chem Soc Rev.


Dr. Lijina MP, Asst. Ed. Manager (India)
Royal Society of ÉîÒ¹¸£Àû¹ú²ú¾«Æ·, India

Lijina is an Assistant Editorial Development Manager at the Royal Society of ÉîÒ¹¸£Àû¹ú²ú¾«Æ·. As part of her role, she works across various disciplines and societies of chemical sciences and support the journals. Lijina completed her integrated PhD in chemistry from the Indian institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram and subsequently she joined RSC.
